Chief Minister's Initiative for Stamp Duty Relief

The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, has announced a new initiative to extend stamp duty exemptions to ex-servicemen and persons with disabilities. This decision was made during a review meeting of the Stamp and Registration Department held on Thursday.

According to an official statement, Yogi emphasized the need for mandatory e-payment for registration fees exceeding ₹20,000 across all districts, based on positive outcomes from a pilot project conducted in five districts.

While reviewing the department's current status, the Chief Minister highlighted the importance of implementing Aadhaar authentication to curb fraudulent activities. He also suggested simplifying the registration process for allottees through a single-window system for e-registration.

Furthermore, he instructed the department to expedite the recruitment process for vacant positions to enhance efficiency and service quality. The Chief Minister also pointed out the necessity to explore alternative options for stamp sales and rationalize vendor commissions. Additionally, he proposed providing exemptions on stamp duty and registration fees for lease agreements of up to ten years for small and medium-sized enterprises.
